The Ateitis CUP is a renowned European youth football competition held annually in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. This respected event attracts over 7,000 young athletes annually from more than twenty nations, featuring a wide range of football academies, school teams, and junior squads. Celebrated for its elite level of play and smooth organisation, the tournament promotes integrity, cultural exchange, and development in youth sport across the continent.
First held in 2010, the Ateitis CUP began as a regional fixture and quickly grew into a landmark event on the northern European football calendar. Its steady growth and high-quality coordination have earned it widespread recognition and a loyal international following.
According to official regulations, the competition is structured in two main phases: a preliminary round and a knockout stage. Initially, clubs are placed into groups of four to seven and play each other once. All teams progress to the play-offs. In the event of a draw, penalty shoot-outs are used — five for older age categories, three for younger ones.
Winners receive trophies, medals, and commemorative awards, while outstanding players — including the tournament’s best performer and top goal-scorer — are recognised with special honours.
